Cycling and Kayaking

Cycling

In April 2020 during lockdown, I rediscovered my amazing Boardman road bike. I am also fortunate enough to be surrounded by lots of very picturesque countryside so off I went.

Following a London to Brighton bike ride on a mountain bike – I decided a road bike ( weighing half as much ) was probably in order.

I went for the Boardman Road Comp originally until someone nicked it from outside a restaurant in Oxford.

I chose to upgrade to the Road Team bike because I trust Chris Boardman and he has specified some excellent durable but lightweight components for this bike.

I am currently being loaned a Raleigh Motus E-bike which is great for commuting and trips into town.

Kayaking

This is the incredible Itiwit X500 inflatable ( oh yes ) Kayak which I got very cheaply from Decathlons Pre-loved website as they had repaired a puncture in the fabric. They have however repaired it with such industrial vigour that I am sure it is stronger now than when it first came out of the box. It is an adventure machine.

It is hard to describe how completely serene and calm Oxford can look from the river. It is like a different city.

And it all fits ( including the pump, paddles, seat unit, foot boards and the kayak ) into this little, but heavy bag.
